Time Commitment: 15 hours per week during school year and Full Time over the summer

Travel requirements: Limited and occasional travel for onsite work with clients or suppliers

JOB DESCRIPTION

Czero is looking for motivated and hardworking engineering students to intern with us during the school year and during the summer. We are looking for mechanical or electrical engineering students who enjoy working with mechanical and electrical hardware as well as writing code. The successful candidates will work closely alongside our controls engineers to create controls solutions for our customers. Czero has a wide variety of projects, so we are looking for a well-rounded EE or ME student with strong course work and demonstrated application.

At Czero, you’ll work on a wide variety of projects, for companies large and small, innovating new, and developing existing, mechanical, electromechanical, and electrohydraulic systems and subsystems. Czero specializes in engineering, design and development of first and second stage prototype systems in a variety of fields ranging from automotive powertrain innovations to new systems for efficient energy storage and conversion.

Representative tasks

  • Create control systems
  • Test control systems
  • Data collection, data processing, and DAC system development
  • Electronics and mechanical work

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Junior in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (for 2018-19 school year) preferred

Beneficial Experience

  • Experience with Matlab/Simulink
  • Experience with dSPACE
  • Experience with LabView
  • Thorough knowledge of programming concepts
  • Ability to solder, layout electrical panels, and wire sensors and actuators
  • Desire to work on a variety of challenging controls problems
